3.5 starsI usually round up when I give half stars but this one had me both uncomfortable by some aspects and not in a good way but also intrigued by others The book itself is fascinating The premise of the story is very unique and captivating especially with the dystopia technologically advanced setting The way the world revolved around a nano virus and AIs and how the hives created and continued to create and procreate based on those infected with the virus, while the humans were trying to fig [...]

Bitter Harvest is a great story, flirty, sexy and fun Rider is pretty much your poster boy for Playboy He is sexy and irresistible, and knows it Sutton is a Lieutenant is serious and focused When the two meet, sparks fly. This story is set in an apocalyptic world where a manmade virus is infecting people and turning them basically into human machines Sutton lives in a human community of uninfected people that is, as far as they know, one of the last human communities around Their goal is to prote [...]

2.5When I read m m, I like the men hard I like my science fiction hard, too If it s offered as romance, I like the relationships developed So I was not very happy with this story, because one out of three isn t enough. From the opening scene, where Rider has been captured and bound under the assumption that he s an infected spy, come to suck what s left of unchanged humanity into the hive, the sexual come ons are fast and thick The infected are always ready to f , because exchange of bodily fluid [...]

The world has gone to hell after a bit of nanotech went awry When a mysterious stranger, Nicholas Rider shows up, and has presumably beaten the nano infection, Lieutenant Robert Sutton has his doubts Despite his fear of becoming infected with the nano virus he s drawn to Rider like no one he has every encountered before. The sexual tension in this story is in true Kim Knox style The characters are funny and alive and Rider had me chuckling than once with his over the top come ons and witty comeb [...]

I like sci fi futuristic romance stories and I am known to enjoy the sexy goodness of some m m loving so I thought this novella would give me the best of both worlds In this future alternate world, a computer generated mutation has taken over humanity, turning almost everyone into mindless sex machines There are a few patches of survivors here and there, but it seems like they are only fighting off their inevitable fall.Sutton is one of those left uninfected He has a special immunity, of sorts, [...]

My Review This was an intriguing book It takes place in 2050 and the world has been taken over by an AI unit which has sent out an incredibly invasive nanovirus which is spread through sexual contact Once infected the AI unit takes over and the infected person becomes part of the hive mind Those infected are incredibly enticing to those who aren t Lt Sutton is stationed on one of the final outposts in England which hasn t succumbed to the virus He actually has an unknown immunity to the sexual d [...]

ARC received from Carina Press on NetGalleyEh not so much The science was a little absurd and not really explained well Did they say something about bees And what does AI, sex crazed zombies, and bees have to do with each other Why did they have wings and stingers WTF Aside from all that, I just couldn t picture the infected in my head They sounded kind of like zombies, but could still talk and come off enough as human to get into a compound, so they obviously looked normal but they wanted to sc [...]

Robert Sutton is a military lieutenant in futuristic London His team is one of the last strongholds of uninfected humans Its 2025 but since they are trapped in the tower of London its hard not to picture a medieval setting The world is infected with a disease spread through sex, and it turns people into a type of zombie Nicholas Rider is a prisoner and while he was once infected he is now immune If Sutton and Rider can come together they can help spread the cure and take back the world The sex i [...]

While the world building at the beginning was a little hard to figure out, it smoothed into a unique dystopian future where an evil AI has taken over and killed most of the human population I liked our MCs and the enemies to lovers trope Shannon Gunn did an awesome job of narrating and it made the KM s quickly speed by on my road trip I must admit though, I though the guys name was Sudden for most of the time as it didn t come across well.

3.5 starsI liked the story but as usual I wanted it to be longer and give me of their relationship I really think a prologue explaining what the heck happened with the AI and the nanos would have helped it from being confusing in the beginning Also, maybe an epilogue months down the line telling us what happened with the two men and the world.

Stars 3.5 5OverallThis story is a dark sci fi, post apocalyptic erotic romance That has to be understood for the story to be enjoyed, and even then, this won t be for everyone I surprisingly enjoyed it While there was a bit too much sex and sexual tension for my taste, the world that Knox described was creative, easy to visualize, and dark, creating an absolutely perfect setting Compared to the world in which they live, the characters feel a little flat, but this could be, in part, due to their [...]

I was a bit surprised when I was scrolling through the ratings of the other reviewers and found it wasn t very encouraging in too many cases Still the book cover was decent and the blurb was interesting. The book was really a shortie and as such didn t promise too much.I did like what was delivered, however The main characters view spoiler A snarky, sassy and overly confident MC a very charming personality, indeed oozing sex, sex and even sex while acting like an absolute slut. And a stubborn war [...]

It took a long time for me to figure out what was going on All of the esoteric terms and whatnot However, I did eventually kind of figure it out.I kind of would have liked to learn of the implications of the ending, so sequel I mean, as a romance, it s not bad, but I feel like this post apocalyptic universe has merit and can should be explored a lot .If there s a sequel and it follows the romantic development of any permutation of other characters, I would scream because that is a stupid cop ou [...]

I don t know British history or geography very well, so I didn t completely understand where places were in relation to one another, but the general storyline was very easy to understand A plague infected most of the population and those who hadn t been infected during the First Wave holed up in reinforced compounds and fought off the infected, who wanted nothing than to have sex and spread the infection But while sex is talked about a lot in this book, the sex scenes don t overwhelm the story [...]

3.5 starsI enjoyed this novella it was set in a post apocalyptic society, where only a few humans are left after view spoiler an AI that was supposed to help save the bees went crazy and using nanos turned people into hive creatures mostly by sex The MCs are the only known person to come back from Conformity and the soldier that doesn t trust him even though he is terribly attracted, but since they are on the verge of being wiped out, Sutton takes a chance on Rider after all I enjoyed the sci fi [...]

2.5 Honestly, this one had me rolling my eyes throughout most of the book The AI Hive thing wasn t adequately explained Sutton s determination that his fuck buddies were enough for him, but they obviously could care less about him, just had me a little squeeked out In the end I still don t get the relationship between Sutton and Rider as anything other than the nano tech controlling things shrug it was a quick read anyway.

This book was so confusing that I wondered multiple times if I d picked up a book that was the second or third in a series Not good On top of that, the romance fell short Rider s continuos, incessant talk of how many people he d had sex with, how he d done it and what a sex god he was got boring quickly view spoiler Plus screwing women after he d met Sutton hide spoiler Unnecessary, irritating and all over not my cup of tea.

This story was fresh and interesting I liked Robert and Nicholas The attraction between them was strong and truly well written I liked the bickering between them How they acted around each other Robert fought the need for Nicholas, but not for long The storyline is a bit foggy and it really could be better, but in general this was interesting story with HOT developing relationship I enjoyed reading this story.

Kind of a mix of Starship Troopers meet Jeremiah The blurb is a bit misleading Sutton isn t immune to the virus, he s just immune to one of the side effects the virus has on the uninfected I almost wish this book had been longer I wanted details about what happened and to see the men s relationship develop a little deeper and thoroughly Also the setting could use explanation for people who aren t so intimately familiar with British history.

This was super hot I loved the premise because I m a sucker for forced bonding situations, and the dynamic between the characters was delicious The dystopian setting was also highly original LOVED Rider There were a few phrases that got repeated way too much, and I had to suspend my disbelief a lot surrounding how the external plot got resolved, but I enjoyed this immensely.

    24. Brooklyn on said:

This book confused me Rider and Sutton s relationship was not believable to me They were thrown together because of circumstances and there just wasn t enough storyline to believe they fell in love and weren t just controlled by the nanos And mutant bee people Um, no That was a bit weird.
