After reading some gruesome non fiction books about child murders, I needed a light and entertaining read to lift my spirits As always, I found it in the pages of a romance novel Regency romances are one of my favourite genres, and THE LADY S FATE didn t disappoint.A gentle book, there are some dark overtones the villainous Lady Baxter and the mean Lady Rose Flowers and the main characters the wealthy and attractive Marquess of Haverlane shy, impoverished Lady Violet Flowers weren t perfect by a [...]

This was very disappointing The synopsis made this book sound interesting and there were so many high ratings, that I expected of this book As is, I didn t hate it, but I didn t like it, either. The plot reads like a bad cheesy romantic comedy The kind where the heroine uses an elaborate and utterly unbelievable plot to force the hero into expressing his feelings for her Frankly, I just want to shake the heroine and tell her that if you have to force the hero to acknowledge that he loves you, he [...]

The hero and heroine were likeable and the situation was a little different than the usual storyline.

This story reminded me of the Jane Austen and Bronte books I devoured in high school A well written, classic love story.

I felt like I was reading one of the classics Gallagher has done her research and The Lady s fate reads just as if it were written back in Austen s day But she gives us a new set of characters to examine, and even though they re playing by the same set of Regency rules, the plot takes fresh, unpredictable turns. The relationship between Violet and Haverlane takes time to develop, but their electricity is immediate, even before things get physical Patience is rewarded with some of the steamiest ki [...]

I don t read many historical romances, but this novel by author Anne Gallagher has convinced me to try The chemistry between Violet and Haverland is so strong it s almost palpable, and Gallagher uses this to give readers some unforgettable steamy kissing scenes With plenty of well developed characters my favourites being Lady Olivia and young Jane and lots of plot twists, The Lady s Fate is an engaging, atmospheric read I can t wait to read from Gallagher.

Just because the ladies in early 1800 s London are expected to behave like ladies doesn t mean none of them are feisty Some even dare to speak their own minds Like Lady Violet. This is a sweet Regency romance, meaning there s nothing explicit going on between Lady Violet and Lord Haverlane, but trust me, there s plenty of restrained sizzle Lots of fun characters, too.If you enjoy a good old fashioned romance, you ll love this book.
